I hate the WAIT

This blog will accompany me on my journey into a MBA program within the next couple of months. I have taken my GMAT, have done my research (visited campus, attended info sessions, built a network within the communities, etc.) and fired out applications to INSEAD January intake as well as to Columbia´s January Program. I have planned this whole B-School thing for years and right now - after 5 years in a multinational corporation with strong career progression - it was time for me to apply. Unfortunately the financial crises foiled me a bit as apparently everyone is applying to b-school this year (which sucks).

Anyway, I am waiting for the adcom to budge,
and for a fast end of this economical kludge...

Current b-school status:

INSEAD R2 J10
It seems the adcoms are quite busy to complete the applications of R2. Actually they stated that apps would go complete 14 days after submission, but it has not happened yet. I am afraid that J-intake is more popular than ever (actually J used to be less competitive than S-term) and that INSEAD received tons of apps. Adcom told me that they more or less allot the same number of spots in R1 and R2. Still I fear that I might have been too late with my application... R1 is always better.

CBS J10
As CBS received a record value in applications for S09, the review of J-intake was apparently delayed by approx. four weeks. First apps went under review by May 25. So happy waiting...
So far I have not heard of anyone who has been invited to an interview.
As CBS does not give out any specific j-term stats, I have started to research intensively.
J-term in general seems to be much more international (nearly 70%), also the yield seems to be higher than for Sep (ca. 80-90%). This is because first a lot of people are company sponsored and second there is a lack of alternatives in J. Also it seems that the f/m ratio is 15/85 or 20/80 -> less females than in the regular program.
In some speculative blogs I read that CBS receives maybe a 1000 apps for J. This would mean gathering a spot is generally easier than in the regular program (2oo / 1000 in comparison to 500 / 5000). my 2 cents...
